WEEK 6 TRAINING: Training has gone well this week, a few glitches but weights are still going up even as the leaning out is in progress. My cardio plan of 5 days/week at 25 minutes has been very do-able, and of course we go up!! Next week 30 minutes 5x/week. Energy levels have fluctuated a little bit, but nothing to stop the progress. I'm continually motivated by the people in my life and I can't thank them enough, from the people I see weekly, to the facebooks friends who give me mental pushes. It all helps! Thank you! One of the classes I teach at FitBody Studio, Bleachers, is always a fun way to burn up some calories with friends. Here are a few pics of the class:
Here are a few gym workout days from this week:
September 1st - Legs. Another good one. Even though I had a slight groin strain from picking up my 90lbs dog to get his bath. LOL! By the end, the groin "kink" loosened up.
Stretching the adductors and groin, hoping to go up in weight with my squats! |
The weight felt good. I did go up in weight, but not as much as planned due to the strain. |
Getting fatigued, but managed to keep the 15lbs dumbbells through all the sets. |
We took a break from straight-legged deadliest (SLDL) and did curls this week, a very nice change. |

Cindy Rocks here legs as usual!!! |
September 6th - Shoulders & Core. This workout was a bit challenging and ended up taking over 90 minutes to complete. It was one of those days... hot. And, I was fighting off a head-ache. I kept chugging my water and by the end of the workout all was better, thankfully! I had enough reserves to hit half the incline with my new 10# Weighted Vest!! yay!!
Cindy gets the "crunch" with the Ab machine! |
Thinking... "get a six-pack, get a six-pack, get a six pack." |
I typically do these standing, but wanted to try and isolate with a heavy weight of 30#. I was able to get a good press until the end, in which I did the last few standing to use momentum and get negatives. |
August 30th - The "Perky Pecs" workout! For the "un-endowed" (that would be me). I'm on a mission to muscle up the boobs. Ha! Unfortunately, as I lean out for the competition the booby fat goes away.... so sad. :) This is why I must work on my bench press in off season when I will be able to max out the presses. And, this is why, when I order my bikini we will make sure there is sufficient "padding". LOL
We Must! We Must (Blurry hand means cranking the reps! Ha!) |
Cindy's pectorals pop!! |
Bench Pressing 95#/9x - Not a great lifting record weight, but I'm a bit cautious due to an old shoulder injury. It felt good so next week the weight is going up!!! |
Let's get some cleavage!!! |
Body Weight Dips. Love these!! |

Aug. 28th - Today is Back & Calves. My partner in crime, Cindy Jensen, pushed me to keep up with her powerful calves. We cranked out some fun pull-ups and performed negatives by pulling down on our legs while we resisted in a pull-up position. Pretty cool!!

August 25th - LEGS! This was a killer leg workout. I couldn't walk very well for the next two days due to going extremely heavy on straight leg dead lifts! WOW!
